On a fascinating hill, between the views of the splendid Umbrian countryside surrounding the Trasimeno Lake, we find the farmhouses, which can offer you a quiet and friendly atmosphere
This building complex is part of a larger property: a big farm of more than 210 ha, ran with modern technologies and specialized in high quality products (wine, oil, cereals, fruits, etc). All farm products are available to the guests.

The agricultural activities are conducted in completely recently restored farmhouses and in a former convent structure (The Cloister “Il Convento”) which, thanks to the high standard of quality of the services, stands out as the best farm holidays offer.

The “Cloister” is composed of seven apartments and one independent villa.
The indoors are elegantly decorated and further enhanced by antiques and period furniture to keep the flavour of the old country houses.

We prefer non to have pets on the main building to respect other guests. On the private villas pets are allowed on request.
 
The History:

The cloister (“Il Convento”) belonged to the Franciscan Order of Friars Minor and used to be one of the most important centres of the Trasimeno area.

The Convento dates back to the XV century and has a colourful cloister and an old pit.
It is located beneath the Monte Pietrarvella, 1,5 km from the Municipalities of Paciano and Panicale and right in the middle of a wood land of about 18-20 ha, of which about a square mile was surrounded by a boundary wall to limit the property of the Order.

This building complex is made up of a part which had been left neglected after the closure of the convent, while another part (from the XIX century) was partially brought down. Nowadays this complex, preserved by the Ministry of the Artistic and Cultural Heritage, includes the former church of the old convent, a former inhabited space and a parcel in the dining hall - the whole being surrounded by a gorgeous, uncontaminated vegetation

Apartment (2+2 people, ground floor) FRA GIOCONDO
This is a simple yet elegant apartment, enriched by antiques, period furniture and architraves and vaults as main features.
It is located  on the ground floor of the Convent, with external access and view over the park.
Recommended also for families with children and elderly people.
The rooms are elegant, with all the facilities.

Apartment (6 people, 1st floor)  FRA GINEPRO
Fra Ginepro is an apartment on the first floor of the Convent which can also be reached by a lift. It has two floors and wooden stairs.
The apartment has a pleasant view over the swimming pool and the surrounding woods – the ideal choice for big family groups who desire to spend their holidays in good taste.
It is possible to rent this flat together with “Fra Martino” to accommodate up to 10 people.

Apartment (4 people, 1st floor)  FRA MARTINO
Fra Martino is an apartment on the first floor of the Convent. It is also possible to reach it via lift.
The furnishings, simple but accurate, are further enriched with local, handcrafted tapestry.

Suite (2+2 people, 1st floor) FRA CELESTINO
Fra Celestino is a suite on the first floor of the Convent and the access is also possible by a lift.
From the sunny, well-lit room one can enjoy a superb view of the Trasimeno Lake.
The dominant colour of the furnishings is light blue/grey, in pale tones. The chestnut wooden floors go perfectly well with the specially made traves, the period furniture and all the interior fittings.

Apartment (4 people, 2nd floor) FRA SOLE
The main feature of this apartment is the lightness and the warm, bright colours.
It is on the second floor of the Convent, also reachable by a lift. Panoramic view over the the Trasimeno Lake and surrounding woods.
The dominant colour is yellow, with floral decorations. Furnished with taste and special attention to details make Fra Sole a distinguished and comfortable apartment.

This apartment is on the second floor of the Convent, reached via an internal staircase or a lift.
This is an ideal choice for a couple, since Fra Rosario is a small and lovely apartment yet very comfortable and accurately furnished.

Apartment (4 people, 2nd floor) FRA MELONE
Situated on the second floor of the Convent, it can be reached through an internal staircase or a lift.
A lovely apartment – ideal for an unforgettable stay.

Then in a  independent Dependance, there’s: Casa Cappuccini is located about 50 m. above the Casa Convento and it used to be Fra Cipolla’s house, now converted into a charming farm holiday structure. From the fully-furnished porch you can enjoy an extraordinary sight over the plains, up to the northern shores of the Trasimeno Lake.
Casa Capuccini is furnished in good taste, with family period furniture.
The arched doors leading from the living room to the porch will let you enjoy a splendid view during your stay.From the back, the big chestnut trees of Monte Pietrarvella are visible.

Speciality:
"Il Convento" is situated on the southern side of the Trasimeno lake (about 8 km), from which one can enjoy a beautiful sight of the lake and the mountains. Towards the end of the summer of 2004, the restoration works of the whole complex were finished. The complex comprises of sumptuously furnished flats - reached via an internal lift, areas for congresses and banquets, parking lot, swimming pool (9x16) with hydromassage, barbecue and a park through which one can walk along, taking the same famous routes of the friars.
