The new motorway Asti - Cuneo, which is currently under construction, should
shorten the distance considerably between the resort and the larger cities, which

The first lift in Limone was a so-called sleigh-lift (a sleigh pulled by a rope), which was
built in 1937. This was followed, in 1948 by the first chair lift and then progressed
a multi-stage expansion and development of the ski area, which led to the foundation in 1975 of the Riserva Bianca, with about 100 km of pistes (extended from Cross-valley to Limonetto).

Riserva Bianca is the name of the largest ski area in the province of Cuneo
(Italy). The area extends into the town of Limone Piemonte to the French border
and includes the ski areas of Limone Sole, the Colle Tenda Quota 1400 and
Limonetto.

Christmas 2006 opened a new Mountain lift, which is dedicated to Severino
Bottero, a ski coach who died January 2, 2006 in a car accident, who
trained first Deborah Compagnoni, (who won three Olympic gold medals and three world championship gold medals and 16 World Cup in her career. She has been named Italy's top female Alpine skier of all time) and then, in 2002, also the French athlete Frederic Covili and helped him to a World Cup victory in the giant slalom.
