There are few cities and towns along the coast of Tuscany that are as charming and carismatic as the little town of San Vincenzo (Saint Vincent)  that is located in the south of Livorno province.
The section of the Leghorn coast where San Vincenzo is found today had been inhabited since the early Palaeolithic era, but it was with the arrival of the Etruscans that the area knew a remarkable civilisation.

In fact, San Vincenzo is in the vicinity of the promontory of Populonia, the seat of a powerful Etruscan territory ruled by a lucomon.

The presence of metals within the territory of San Vincenzo, and in particular on the slopes of Mount Calvi, meant that the Etruscans developed here a considerable activity of extraction and fusion, numerous traces of which have been discovered.

Once the Romans conquered the Etruscans, the Aurelian Way passed by San Vincenzo, and although there is no certain information, it would seem that a village and a landing stage were founded on the spot. Instead, it is definite that in the 9th century in the small town of San Vincentium there used to exist a small shelter for pilgrims, probably at the origin of the founding of a church.  In 1304 the Pisans had a watch tower erected with a fortress which, two centuries later, in the year of 1505, was the scene of the epilogue to Pisa's attempted revolt against the city of Florence.

Naturally tourism is an important economic resource but this isn´t any ordinary summerresort that is dead in the winter and packed with people and tourist during spring and summer. San Vincenzo has it´s own population and inhabitants and large veriaty of shops, coffieshops, bars and retaurants.

Among the restaurants can be found, there is also the famous "Gambero Rosso" (the Red Shrimp), which according to many is the best Italian restaurant. Not only that, the city has a very fine and sandy beach.

From San Vincenzo is 20 km. to Piombino where you can take the ferry to the beautiful island of Elba.

Cavallino Matto
Cavallino Matto means "The little crazy horse" and is the largest amusement park in Tuscany, with its 60 000 sqm. The park is located in pine forest outside the beautiful beach of Marina di Castagneto. The park has existed since 1967 when it was a free playground and over the years have been more pleasant activities. In 2006 the park was bought by Manfredi family, which brought in another large number of recreational activities and various live shows.

Populonia
The town was originally an Etruscan settlement and the only of its kind along the coast. Together with the Volterra Populonia was
one of the most important development centers for the metal.

Acqua Village Cecina (Cecina Mare)
Acqua Village was founded in 2004 when, in principle, merging the two parks Acqua ll Park in Cecina (from 1993) and Acqua Park Follonica (1999). In Cecina you can try the waterslides like Kamikaze, Twister and Anaconda, which offers speed and lots of entertainment.
Furthermore, you can jump in the waves in the pool and for the smallest, there is obviously also a children's pool.
