Cortina d´Ampezzo, in the province of Belluno in the Region of Veneto, is situated in a green valley at an altitude of 1224 meters and has almost seven thousand
inhabitants.
The charm of Cortina, in the middle of the Ampezzo valley, much depends on the surrounding natural environment
that frames it, with the mountains Cristallo and Sorapis in the east, and in the west Le Tofane.
These are of course different rock groups of the dolomites with all the typical characteristics that makes them and the whole valley into a truly unique place.

Cortina is without doubt one of the most famous and prestigious Italian resorts:
A name that has been preserved over time, partly thanks to the World Championships that are held here in this place every year. Even a James Bond movie was shot in part here.

- On the other hand, in the mountain-group Sorapis you can climb up to a challenging way to the Tandi Farloria shelter;
- In the Cristallo Group you can climb up to the shelter G. Lorenzi, on 2932 meters hight.
- From the Passo Tre Croci, you can climb an easy path to the lake Lago di Sorapis or choose a somewhat more difficult route up to the Forcella di Cristallo, at the foot of the onominous mountain.

But these are just some of the tracks and trails that are available to all and
all legs and all worth a visit.
