Lots of snow and good food on the roof of Europe, is how in short one could describe this wonterful skiresort in the north of  italy.

Cervinia is one of the Alps' highest and most snow-sure ski resorts. The ski area is
called the roof of Europe. The village is located in the famous area of Matterhorn,  in Italian Il Cervino which has given its name to the locality. It's perfect for everything from mile-long cruising pistes with the majestic Matterhorn as a background to Zermatt-side stimulating downhill.
The snow is dry and fine at these high altitudes with surprisingly good surface all the way into April.

Famous long-slope
A famous and beautiful long run is  the "Ventina" which starts at 3480 meters and coiles down to the village in one go. Here above the radiant Rosa Plateau you can also get over to the neighboring village of Valtournenche where it is often quiet, with few riders. Here you swish down in a 11 km long run race with a height difference of almost 1900 m from the Glacier, skiing through the forest at the end. Guaranteed euphoria!

Off-piste skiers often appreciate Cervinia as the off-piste areas are large, the snow remains long on the high altitude and Italians rarely jump into the powdersnow.
Indian Park is the name of the ski park with kilometers of fun jumps and trails in various degrees of difficulty.

Here you also get incredibly good and affordable food. One of the best known among tourists is Ulla's restaurant, Chalet Etoile. She serves pasta, which smells seductively and we make it even a bit more luxurious with a little seafood and good wine, naturally from Val d'Aosta.

An other of the ristorants not to be missed is the Ristorante Bontadini
of 3100 meters has spectacular views from its sun terrace and is recommended for a long lunch. Tene de Baracon in Valtournenche has typical Italian home-cooking and is popular among lift personnel local instructors.

Unparalleled views
The entire ski system, with Zermatt included, offers 74 lifts. One can almost go for
weeks without doing the same slopes several times. You get up to the 3900 meters high Klein Matterhorn. The view is unbeatable. It almost feels like being on another planet with the peaks of the Breithorn before us and the glacier below our ski tips.

Good food and happy atmosphere
In modern Cervinia is a large selection of good restaurants. Enjoy a delicious
wood oven baked pizza and good drinks at low prices in cozy cellars. Nice and warm
British Pubs are popular for good live music and delightful afterski-evenings.
Bianconiglio (The white Rabbit) is one of the village's best discos. Here everybody can enjoy and amuse themselves all seasons, villagers and tourists intensively together.
